APR2P has released two new additions to its Risk Assessment series, focusing once again on Myanmar and, for the first time, Bangladesh.
These Risk Assessments uses the UN Secretary-General's Framework of Analysis to determine the risks of atrocity crimes occurring in the countries under analysis.
For Myanmar, the ongoing violence between the Tatmadaw and various armed groups, as well as their continued attacks on Myanmar's civilian population, compounds the risks of atrocity crimes occurring within the country.
In the case of Bangladesh, ongoing impunity for the military, institutional weaknesses, and tensions between the government and ethnic minorities are all analysed to determine the risks of atrocity crimes being committed.
Both of the assessments contain a list of recommendations for stakeholders in the region, and can be read from our Risk Assessments page.
