About the event

The University of Queensland's School of Communication and Arts and the Asia-Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect invite you to attend the Brisbane film screening of China's Artful Dissident. Following the screening we will host a Q&A session with the documentary's protagonist Badiucao himself and documentary film maker Danny Ben-Moshe.

China's Artful Dissident follows Badiucao, a Chinese political artist in exile, on a personal challenge to stop the Communist regime's whitewashing of history and abuse of human rights - and in the process, risking his family's freedom. As the artist plans a major exhibition in Hong Kong, his safety, and the safety of his family, hangs in the balance, as the Chinese authorities close in on his identity.
