Mr Alistair Gee

Alistair is the co-founder of the Sydney-based Centre for Armed Violence Reduction. The Centre endeavours to achieve a reduction in armed violence at a regional and national level by taking a whole of government approach and partnering with officials and key actors to deliver on violence prevention goals.
Over recent years, Alistair has also been Chairman of a number of other protection-related initiatives, including :
- Thai Burma Border Consortium which provides humanitarian assistance to 240,000 displaced Burmese;
- Australian Council for International Development’s Advocacy and Public Policy Committee;
- Refugee Advice and Casework Service (Australia);and
- (Co-Convenor) of Make Poverty History – a coalition of 60 aid agencies campaigning on halving extreme poverty globally.
