Obinna's PhD research looks at the implementation of R2P in Africa. He has a Bachelor degree in Public International Law from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Nigeria and a Masters of Security Studies in Human Security from the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom.
Since 2014 he has been the Managing Partner of Flinifeb Consulting Group.
