The current risk of atrocity crimes occurring in Thailand is low to moderate. Despite its economic and human development progress, factors such as political repression, corruption, limited freedom of expression, suppression of civil dissent, a tumultuous political environ¬ment, ongoing ethnic tensions, discrimination against protected groups, and lack of accountability mechanisms may potentially contribute to increasing the risk of atrocities in the country.
