APR2P new program Strategies for Prevention will utilise the Framework for Action to articulate evidence-based strategies for mitigating and reducing identified risks.
The Centre will also establish an APPAP thematic group on Strategies for Prevention which will utilise the framework to develop guidance on prevention strategy and then utilise the APPAP network to advocate and implement those strategies
In early 2025 APR2P will publish one of three reports on the most significant atrocity crimes risks facing the region, those situations where international action under pillar 2 of the Responsibility to Protect is judged necessary with an analysis of the options for international responses, focusing on Parts 2-4 of the Framework for Action. . The first report in this series will focus on Myanmar.
The aims of the report and briefing;
- to disseminate and advocate advice on specific strategies for prevention
- to encourage others to being using the Framework of Analysis to plan their own prevention strategies
