Professor Dewi Fortuna Anwar is the Deputy Secretary of the Vice President of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences, having previously served there as Research Professor and Deputy Chairman for Social Sciences and Humanities.

She is a member of many international bodies, including the Center for Information and Development Studies, the International Council, the Asia Society, the Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission and the International Advisory Board of the Asia-Pacific College of Diplomacy at Australian National University.

She received her PhD from Monash University, and her BA (honours) and MA from the University of London.
